Many enterprises use Microsoft Teams to coordinate and communicate with their employees. TeamMacro TERSM is now integrated with Microsoft Teams.
One of the main issues that corporations consider in handling risk management and security is the sensitivity of the information collected. Most are reluctant to let this data go beyond the well-fortified internal IT infrastructure. While "Cloud" computing is becoming more and more prevalent in the enterprise, this kind of information is usually considered far too sensitive to allow its control by a third-party. For this reason, we have separated the management, progress chasing, and alerting of incidents from their actual content. Microsoft teams is essentially a "Cloud" based service but is well suited to these management aspects. We have also avoided the close integration of Microsoft Teams with the internal IT infrastructure, and we do this by using the most basic interface - electronic mail.
In TeamMacro TERSM, notifications, alerts, and reminders are communicated to teams via email. Each email is based on a template that is configured to the organization’s needs. Furthermore, the templates can be multi-lingual to further facilitate the distributed management and collaboration. The emails now provide the link to Microsoft Teams. By design the emails do not contain security related content, just content related to the team and to the management of the incident as a "thing" to be tracked from conception to conclusion. These emails can be directed to Microsoft Teams Channels so that topics can be separated and sorted and managed by each team. There is a link to the TeamMacro TERSM system that allows, through one click, access to the actual security incident details. Of course, access is only allowed if the user has already logged in to TERSM, otherwise they must be properly authenticated to see security content.
Using Microsoft Planner, the emails are converted via Microsoft Teams, into Microsoft Planner tasks. In this way all the benefits of Microsoft Planner become available to TERSM including:
- Priority handling
-"Kanban" style management of progress
- Statistics and analytics on tasks
- Video conferencing
- Bulletins
- Notes
The Microsoft Team integration is an example of how TeamMacro TERSM can be integrated with other third-party collaboration tools. If you have other requirements, please let us know.
